Real Russia – Typical Russian Apartment – RUSSIA TODAY

Hello everyone, today I will tell you about the typical Russian apartment. Because many of my students have been asking: “How does a typical Russian apartment… a typical Russian house look from inside?” So let’s talk about it This is a house. It’s built of bricks. The yard inside And in the yard – the parking Cars are here This is a first floor And a shop The shop is called “Privet” (“Hi”) going up the stairs This is the first entrance Here our entrance Here are ads “Information” Here they ask to… What’s here? Electricity, hot water This is an intercom You can call to the apartment and they’ll open. But we have a key Opening And coming in This is the hallway Elevator Here we keep bikes, strollers, anything This is a staircase up One can walk there Here we have… oh blurry… what’s going on so here Here are mailboxes Here they deliver mail 58, 57 – these are the numbers of apartments We have boxes without names And let’s go to the elevator Let’s ride it So… Coming in… And the 9th floor The ordinary elevator There is instruction above – how to use it Phone number Here are “emergency call” and “door opening” This is our floor Different plants, flowers and apartments Apartments entrance There are 4 apartments on this floor Coming in… Here is the small… How to call it… shared hallway Here’s one apartment, here’s another one shoes These are my son’s sleds And let’s go into the apartment Coming in the corridor Here is this ottoman Table chandelier They are on the ceiling Here is a… “glass wardrobe” dressing room dark here One can keep clothes here This is… one more time… corridor (hall) Let’s go to the bathroom Usually we say just “bath” The full name is bathroom This is the bath itself Toilet Sink Different shelves with different things and… a washing machine Now going to bedroom vacuum cleaner floor lamp Bed. Two nightstands This is a nightstand And there is a wardrobe again and window Let’s look outside There is a stadium in snow And there students live, in dormitories Now going to the kitchen This is half-kitchen half-room I mean here is a sofa And here are the table, fridge, stove, Here it is Microwave, kettle… TV and so on So this is a kitchen and a living room simultaneously Here are different magnets and yahoo that’s me with my son And so this is… Oops everything blurred… … the room Let’s go to the balcony The balcony Here one can keep different stuff And here we are again This is a swimming pool And that was it for today. If you have any questions about living in Russia, leave them below this video and I will try to answer And that’s it, I hope to see you in my next video. Bye-bye

Do people rent or own their apartments?? I noticed that everyone in Moscow lives in apartments but I noticed that there are homes outside of Moscow, but they all have high fences or are in gated  communities. Seems like so much security. Do they really need that much security? I have really enjoyed my trips to Moscow…

Great video as always, Daria. Thank you! Would it be possible to do a video about russian sports centres any time? I mean, the most popular sports people practice (I know hockey and fighting are very popular, right?) in sportive and activities clubs/centres.. I'm asking because I'm physical education student and it'd be amazing to know it.. Russia has a very strong sportive research culture.

This link is a more accurate portrayal of a "typical" Russian apartment. It's a dark hell hole. No wonder Russians sound so indifferent towards life.

Why don't you monetize your videos and make extra money. I have 12,000 subscribers and make around $50 per month from google ads. With your 19 thousand subscribers and thousands of views, you could probably make $200 per month with google ads.

In such a 'house' is there a body corporate/owner's corporation that oversees the 'behaviour' of the apartment owners? Or is this done at a local government level? For example, where I am, the body corporate might restrict what colour you could paint your balcony, or take legal action against the crazy guy on the seventh floor who decided he'd like to breed pigs in his apartment. 😉 Their main purpose is, of course, to look after all the communal parts of the building.
