Police believe 6-year-old started fire in West Oakland apartment building

MICHELE? 3 WE KNOW THERE ARE SOME RESIDENTS WHO WERE GIVEN KEYS TO STAY AT APARTMENTS THAT ARENT IN THE CITY, THEY SAY ITS A BIG PROBLEM BECAUSE ITS SO FAR FROM THEIR NORMAL COMMUTE. 3 MORE THAN 20 PEOPLE HERE ARE AT THE RED CROSS, INCLUDING ABOUT 10 CHILDREN. INVESTIGATORS SAY THEY ARE ALL HOMELESS BECAUSE OF A CHILD WHO WAS PLAYING WITH FIRE.BUT NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED INVESTIGATORS SAY A 6 YEAR OLD ADMITTED TO USING MATCHES TO LIGHT A FIRE INSIDE THE LAUNDRY ROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE APARTMENT BUILDING. IT HAPPENED AT DERAUD PLACE IN THE AREA OF UPTOWN AND WEST OAKLAND ON SATURDAY.ONE WOMAN TOLD ME SHEa ALARM WENT OFF.
