Oscar Mayer Mansion Restored, For Sale

BUTLER AND IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK, THEY MIGHT TELL YOU NOT TO PUT KETCHUP ON YOUR HOTDOG. THIS OSCAR MEYER MANSION HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY RESTORED. IT IS UP FOR SALE. WE GOT A LOOK INSIDE. STEP INSIDE. A TRIBUTE TO THE GILDED AGE. EVERY INCH OF THIS 1901 MANSION HAS BEEN RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL ELEGANCE AND THEN SOME. WE HAD FALLEN ON HARD TIMES. THROUGH THAT, YOU SAW THESE WONDERFUL DETAILS. YOU KNEW THEY COULD BE BROUGHT BACK. WHEN YOU TAKE THE STAIRCASE, A LABORER — ELABORATE STAINED-GLASS WINDOWS AND PAINTED CROWN MOLDING, KEEP IN MIND, A LOT OF IT, CAME THANKS TO HOTDOG. OSCAR MEYER FOUND HIS BRAND IN CHICAGO IN 1883. BY 1927, HIS SON, OSCAR CAP MEYER PURCHASED THE HOME, ENTERTAINING GUESTS IN THE TOP FOUR BALLROOMS OR SITTING BEHIND FIREPLACES. THE HOME WASN’T SOLD AND FELL TO DISREPAIR. LEAKY AND OVERGROWN WITH IVY, IT WAS CALLED THE CHIA HOUSE. WATER WAS POURING THROUGH. BUT A DEVELOPER SAW THE POTENTIAL. SO MUCH OF WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY HERE WAS STILL HERE. SOMEHOW, MUCH OF THE STRUCTURE SURVIVED. FIRST FOUR CHANDELIERS, DOORKNOBS AND PERFECTLY EVEN FLOORS. AS A REMODELER, THAT IS GOLD. THE DESIGN TEAM WORKED TO CREATE MISSING PIECES FROM THE GRAND STAIRCASE AND COLOR MATCHING THE UNIQUE EXTERIOR BRICK. MODERN TOUCHES IN THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM PAY TRIBUTE, PROVING THAT OSCAR MEYER HAD SOMETHING — QUITE AWAY WITH BALONEY. DEVELOPERS SPENT ABOUT A MILLION AND A HALF DOLLARS TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE. IT IS SIX BEDROOMS AND FOUR AND A HALF BATHROOMS. IT CAN BE YOURS FOR JUST UNDER $3 MILLION. EVEN THERE IS ROOM AND THE FANCY REFRIGERATOR, YOU BETTER THINK TWICE ABOUT BRINGING CATCH-UP — KETCHU PAUL CAP INTO THE HOUSE. WHAT DID YOU THINK?
