My Apartment in JAPAN! 外国人のアパート

today I thought I’d give you guys a tour of my apartment I’m going to do this video in English since this video is for people that have never been to Japan before they can see what a Japanese apartment looks like so here’s my front door when you come in there’s a little closet here for my shoes and you can basically see the whole apartment from here it’s pretty small it’s smaller than like a bachelor apartment would be in Canada or America and here’s my washing machine as you can see I don’t have a dryer most places in Japan don’t have a dryer you hang your clothes outside to dry them kind of a pain in the ass when it’s cold they take forever to dry and the summer it’s fine though and here’s my shower room in Japan the shower and the toilet are in separate rooms so here’s the earth and here’s the shower and you can switch from the the water from the sink to the showerhead using this dialing so yeah unlike Canada you can get the whole room wet like there’s a drain the floor here and you can have a shower here or you can have a shower in the bathtub I’m so used to having a shower in the bathtub but I always have it in there anyways I don’t like getting the floor here wet I guess I’m just not used to it there’s a shelf there for shampoo instead I mean that’s about it it’s got a door you can close it and here’s the toilet room it’s really small it’s just really small closed with one person can fit in here and the toilets a little different than Canadian one too you can see it’s got this like sink thing at the top when you flush the toilet the clean water will come out here and you can wash your hands and then that water is used to fill up the tank so it’s kind of cool see if water that way and this thing is like a peach smelly thing smells good towel I don’t have any hellokitty toilet paper left I’m using this boring flower stuff but in Japan it’s really hard to find white toilet paper everything’s like pink or blue scented kind of cool and what else do out here here is my cooking stove it’s a gas stove looks like this it’s got two elements it’s really small but it’s enough for one person and my dish rack I hate doing dishes so there’s sub dirty dishes in my sink oh this is kind of cool it’s a rose scented dish so we don’t have this in candid either I really like this it smells awesome and then up here we have this cupboard which is so high that I can barely reach it kind of annoying I’ve got a rice cooker and that kind of thing I don’t use because I bought something else which I’ll show you later and then journey here there’s some more storage giant box of oatmeal that I got from Costco in Japan and some rice and here’s my tiny little stove not stove umm fridge and microwave and toaster now this fridge is really tiny here’s the freezer you can barely fit anything in the freezer which kind of sucks I don’t own any food right now cuz I’m going away for the weekend let this kimchi it’s some cognac ooh and some vegetable juice is about it and a picture of my cat in Canada I don’t know if you can see that here is the main room here’s my bedroom I don’t know if you can get an idea of how big it is it’s it’s not that small this room itself is kind of kind of big I’ve got a closet over here and this is a dormitory so all the furniture came with the apartment even though it’s an ID it’s a dormitory it’s like exactly what an apartment would be like in Japan it’s just a regular apartment but the school has set up something with them so that students can live here so this is what apartments look like in Japan it’s something special because it’s a dormitory here’s my computer my desk stuff I got from you pho captured cat face another cat face on an ice cream cone run my comics more cat stuff my cat in Canada lots of teeth I like teeth oh here’s the water machine I wanted to show you we don’t have these in Canada as we did because I think they’re really cool put the water in here and you attach the cord and plug it in and then you can choose a temperature 98 or 90 degrees and then it will boil the water for you and then it will keep it warm so you can just push this button here and the water comes up so you can just always have boiling water ready for tea or coffee or whatever you want to make so that’s pretty cool and my extremely small TV which I hate I bought a weed but the TV so small that I have to like wear my glasses when I’m playing games kind of crappy Mir that I bought this didn’t come with the environment my scars doing deer on grey poster my Christmas cards from my family and my friends Fiji and then yeah I’ve got a closet here with my clothes so yeah that is about it oh yeah and then so yeah after you wash your laundry you got to hang it on one of these things and then you can either hang it inside that’s why we have these hangy hook things I don’t know what to call them but when it’s winter usually have to hang your laundry inside so you can use that it takes forever to dry it sucks it’s night time right now so you can’t really see but I’ve got a current you can hang your clothes on this line here in the summer and they’ll dry super-quick oh yeah and you probably saw it already but that’s my air conditioner you can’t live without an air conditioner in Japan because the summer is so hot and humid you would die and it’s kind of cool here in the winter I’m in Chiba it’s not super cold so but I do you it’s a heater right now I’m using it as a heater as a heater at the moment so yeah that is about it if you have any question oh this is another cool thing when someone comes to my door it’ll show who it is on this monitor here and then I can push this button and talk to them so that’s pretty cool that’s about it let me know if you have any questions and I will answer them thanks guys have a good New Year’s Happy New Year Yoshio Danny

Question please. What school was that? Intercultural Language school?? because I was looking at that school's floor plans and they have an agreement with a building and your apt looks exactly like their floor plans. Tell u the truth exactly the same if not a bit bigger than what I had in Boston…

Such a cute and humble place to live. Makes me like you more as a person. Everything is neat, very practical and well placed! Yet… on the other hand I felt kinda lonely by watching this video. All that silence would make me go crazy! Lonely nights after coming back home from work… When I saw that Wii, just sitting there, I got sad, because it's simply not right to play Wii alone :

a lot of the stuff is available in Canada, well Toronto at least. The hot water boiler or rose scented soap, you can get it all at Pacific mall, or Chinatown or any of the various Asian supermarkets located across the city. I'm not sure where you were from, where you couldn't get these. Even my Walmart sells the tiger hot water boiler

In Finland we have 3-5 long dish- racks inserted into an ordinary looking cupboard over the sink which kind of keeps everything out of view of eyes and is a very, very genius idea! In the UK there aren't cupboards like that and the very reason why I recently bought my sisters Finland-made, brightly colored dish-mats as Christmas gifts. They sure were very happy about the mats as their washable and dry easily.

I have a studio-like apartment style dorm in graduate school in America. There's shared washer and dryers on every floor, but there's no place to hang clothes out to dry in my dorm if my clothes say "line dry". Wish we had those hanging lines in the dorms here.

Your dorm was bigger than mine. I was in Chiba too and we did not have a separate toilet and a tub. We didn't even have a tub. We had a shower and the toilet in the same room and it was so small that you had to literally move the sink on top of the toilet to be able to take a shower and even then you had very little space to stand.
