Monday Musing 42 | Denied Shop

(happy and sweet music) – Hello, and welcome back. You are here with me for
Monday Musing number 42. Do you know what that means? This is my 294th video of the year in my effort to upload a video every
single day for 2019. 294. I will be over 300 by next Monday Musing. Amazing! I can’t believe I’ve
done that many videos. The pressure is on. You know, in one sense I go, “Okay, I have two and
a half months left.”, and in the other I think, “Wow, I still have a lot of videos”. I’m behind. I will be shooting a
lot of videos tomorrow. Today is Saturday, and I’m hoping to get this shot, and edited, and
up by the end of today, because tomorrow, it’ll really be tonight, it’s almost the end of
the day now (laughs). But tomorrow, I need to shoot
quite a number of videos because there’s something
going on at the house Monday, and then just about every day this week. So, I have got to shoot
a lot of videos tomorrow, so wish me luck on that. I do have a glass of wine here, I’m feeling very Andri at the moment, Cheers! I can’t do it quite as
beautifully as she does. Cheers! (laughing) Anyway, cheers. I just got back from the
Rangoni fashion show. That was benefitting the
Triangle Greyhound Society. I’ve been talking about that. It was just so many moving parts! It was fun, I’m glad I did it. It was a lot more work
than I thought it would be. There were several models, and of course they were
walking with the dogs. The dogs were not the problem. The dogs were absolute angels. The problem was, there was
just so many moving parts. It wasn’t really a problem, but you have models who
are wearing clothing, And the clothing is by Ruby Ribbon. Olga is the one who is
selling Ruby Ribbon, I will see, I don’t want to say her last name here because I’m not sure if
she’s okay with that, but I will put her link below. If she does have one. I’ll make sure to ask her. But if she’s got a place for you to go, I’ll put it below. So the models are wearing
the Ruby Ribbon clothing, I’m MCing, so I have to have words for all this. So she’s giving me the words to say for what
the models are wearing, I am putting the jewelry together, making sure each model
has jewelry and rings, you know, you have to
mess with how those fit, and then writing up what
I’m going to say about that, and then there’s the shoes. All the same thing. Making sure that I know
what to say about that. And that Edna, who manages the Cameron
Village Rangoni store, that she has given me the
information about the shoes. All of these have some words that I’m not sure how to pronounce, and I have to double check all that, because these shoes are Italian. So a lot of times, the name or the color is Italian. And so, it was hard to be the person doing the jewelry and also the MC. But it was nice. And then, there were
some last minute changes where one model was sick, and so another model came in, and, you know, I’m sure it always happens. All of that was fine, I was just afraid I was
going to mess something up when I was talking about it. But it all went well. There was a nice crowd there, there was a nice raffle. The dogs were a lot of fun. They’re very regal. I was thinking they look very Egyptian, and very regal. Especially the way one of them was sitting looked absolutely like
an Egyptian sculpture. And they said, “Oh yeah, that’s where they came from. “They were the dogs of Egyptian royalty.” I had no idea that that’s the case. They definitely look it. And they’re just soft
and sweet and (sighs). I don’t need a dog, (laughing) but I do like those dogs, I will say. The raffle, one of the things that someone could win, was my Raleigh necklace. The woman who won was one of the models. I was delighted about that. Her name is Sherrie. Last week, I had mentioned that I
was hoping to get into a new little shopping area going up. It’s not only a shopping area, there are going to be
restaurants and different things. It’s an interesting little concept that they have going on, and there are only three
retail spaces available in the place, and they declined me. The feedback I got, they told me that I was too bougie. I don’t know what that means exactly. Like, I don’t know what
scale of bougie they want, I don’t know what scale of bougie I am. I do own my bougie, I’m a little bougie. But I will say that I do
think my jewelry is welcoming, and I was only planning to
do the silver jewelry there, ’cause I’ve got some
that is pretty expensive. And a lot of that is made, sometimes for specific people, but usually, it is made
to showcase what I can do, and in the hopes of winning awards. That’s what those are for. By and large I sell mostly silver, and then I sell some gold. But the one-of-a-kind, high-end things is what I make the least of. I wouldn’t need it at
all in a jewelry store. I probably, in this particular store, would not have even brought the gold. It would mostly be the silver, and then some of the
Maurer Limited pieces. The example that they gave, there is a candle person coming in, somebody who makes candles. To me, candles are very bougie. It’s a luxury thing to do. I don’t know how much the candles will be, but whatever you’re spending on a candle, you burn the candle and it is gone. And that is bougie. I mean, that’s luxury. And I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it, but I do think it is a luxury thing to do. That’s life, I certainly don’t want to be anywhere where I’m not welcomed with open arms. If it isn’t a good fit,
it isn’t a good fit. So, I will continue my hunt. I will find the perfect place. And I will open it so that
I can meet more of you. That is the goal. You may remember, it might’ve been last
week or the week before, I think it was the week before last. Bobby, Bobster92, and
I did a video together with our Louis Vuitton luggage tags and he showed two ways to put
the luggage tags on a bag. Autumn did a response video. No, you can relax. There was no drama. There was no drama with
this response video. She showed two other ways to
put the luggage tag on a bag. And that was nice. It’s always nice to see different ways to do it. And, I’m going to play
around with mine more. I will link that below. Everybody I mention I always link below so you
can take a look at that. As I’m thinking more and more about coming to the end of the year and the videos that I would like to do, I’m trying to think ahead, while at the same time I’m enmeshed in doing a video everyday. So it is kind of hard
to be thinking that way. But, one of the things I would
like to invite you to do, if you would like to, is to send me a photo of you. I would like to honor some of you, and introduce some of you. We’re all talking to each other in the comments below, and sometimes you’re even
talking to each other without me being involved, you’re talking back and forth. And, if you don’t have a channel, then we don’t have a face
to put with the name, so if you care to let us know, I would love for you to send a photo. If you don’t want to send your face, I’m not askin’ for any risque shots, let me be clear on that, but you could just send whatever photo you’re comfortable with, if in fact you want to send a photo. I will put some of those
up in one of my videos toward the end of the year. I would invite you even
if you do have a channel to send a photo. Send those, I’ll put the email below. My YouTube email is
[email protected] I’ll put that below. So if you would like to join
in on that and send a photo, I would would love to show it. Last week, I had two unboxings for you. One was my Zoé wallet. I got that at Tyson’s Galleria when I was with Bobster. It is in the empreinte leather in black. It’s a very compact wallet. I had wanted it in the past, but there had been some glazing issues. Apparently those have been cleared up, so I got that. I unboxed that. I also unboxed a Kusama cosmetic pouch that I bought from The RealReal. That, I returned. I do think it’s real, we just could not find the date code. And so I did return that. But, I did the unboxing
and I tell you that story. So if you’re interested in that, that was this last week. We also talked about filigree, and then a bunch of rings. Square shank rings, bypass rings, and spinner rings. This coming week, I’ve been tagged in a video, Chicprofessor tagged me in the $10,000 to spend on bags
for your whole life tag. Hopefully I will be doing that tomorrow, and get that up this week. I do also have another video planned. I have several ideas. I will be videoing a lot of them and we’ll see what goes up this week. Sometimes it’s just what
comes together the quickest. And of course, they will
include some Jewelry Minutes. As always, thank you for being here. I so appreciate you. Please do subscribe if
you haven’t already. Until tomorrow! (happy sweet music)

So much to talk about this week! You're so right about candles. I have a hard time buying them for that very reason. And even when I do I have a hard time burning them. Besides the candle place, do you know what other kinds of shops and restaurants will be in that shopping center? I envision yours being in a higher end area but still accessible to the masses. I can think of a few places in Houston where your bougieness would fit right in. 😉 I'm glad the greyhound event went so well. I'm sure the rescue is appreciative. OMG, the description you wrote under the video! That's too bad about the video…but also pretty funny to be honest. 😉 Would you be able to speed it up in your software so we can see a clip, at least? That $10,000 tag sounds interesting.

I was just thinking about your retail store. Too bougie? That sounds so funny, i think they they don’t want to have fancy , luxury store in their property . I will try to send you a picture if I could remember it. My memory just like fish ?. Thank You so much for sharing. Have a great week Jill❤️

I will spend about $40 on up for my candles ? because they are handmade and burn several hours lasting much longer than a candle from Pier One or Bath & Body. I’m sure you will find a perfect ?? location! ♥️

You will find a perfect retail store or boutique pretty soon, i know. Unique and fancy jewelry are saleable than candles in general. I'll be looking forward to your new uploads, as usual. Have a fab week. xoxo

Oh I'm sorry about the disappointing store news. They must be looking for something that sells at a lower price point but sells in volume. That can only mean there is a much better place for you to discover. Would you consider doing a video on your art pieces? My eye keeps catching what is on the wall by the door

I’m so sorry about the store Jill. I do NOT think your Jewlery is bougie. Bougie is a way of saying over the top, excessive, glitzy, which I DO NOT think are synonymous with your Jewlery for the most part in my opinion. I’m glad to hear the show was a success! Can’t wait for you to cross the 300 mark for your videos! Can’t wait for your video tomorrow, Jill!

Too boujie?! How odd! Your jewelry is mostly very reasonably priced! And it would have attracted customers to the area! I hope you find a perfect outlet soon!

Have you done any videos explaining the difference between lab created or lab grown gems versus real mined gems, cubic zirconia, zircon, spinnels, moissanite, etc?

Too Bougie!!??? What is wrong with being too bougie? I love Bougie, in fact I pride myself on being a little bougie too. Seriously, I think your jewelry is just lovely and I hope to add a piece to my collection soon. I know you will find the right location to showcase your beautiful jewelry. Video idea: your top ten favorite wines and what you like about each one. ? Video idea: awards in the jewelry industry- how do they work? Seems so interesting. So sorry you didn’t get the space you wanted. A better one will come along that can handle all your boogie-ness lol. I can’t believe they said that. It was not meant to be, I guess. Soon enough the right spot will pop up, all in God’s perfect timing. Have a good week!
