Insula Romana – Roman Apartment – Latin – Minecraft

Greetings everyone. My name is Mr. Craft and today you will learn about Roman apartments. Now, come with me to a Roman apartment. Here we are. In the Roman apartment the whole family slept and lived in one room. In the room there was no water. In the room there was no bedroom. In the room was no bathroom or kitchen. In ancient Rome water was public. Look! Public water. In ancient Rome the bathroom was public. Look! The public bathroom. In ancient Rome a tavern made food. Look! A tavern. In ancient Rome many people lived in apartments. It was difficult to live in apartments. Farewell!

Excellent! This was quite understandable and the use of a 3d world really helps get the point across.

Do you think a Roman would have understood all that? It sounds so simlar to italian, so I was wandering whether this is the right way people would have said that once.

„In den so genannten insulae (Inseln) wohnten die ärmeren Römer. Eine Wohnung bestand (meist) aus einem Zimmer. Es gab keine Küche, Badezimmer oder andere Zimmer. Wasser gab es nicht/ nur öffentlich. Die Toiletten in Rom waren öffentlich, gekocht wurde in einem Thermopolium, heute wäre das ein Wirtshaus.“

I'm watching this earlier video of yours after watching your more recent ones. I hadn't realised how much your production values have improved, Your sound quality is much better now and the BGM is just right. This older video feels like a prototype in comparison, but well done and please keep doing what you do! Oh, btw, I also just finished reading your book "Templum Romanum" which I found just right for a bit of Latin reading during my morning commute. Please write some more, your stuff is great for lower intermediate Latin students who need CI reading material. Gratias tibi ago Magister Craft!
