There is no set beat in house music and I would like to stress that

its weird how house branched in to other genres to. when you here old hardcore then that slowly became jungle then dnb. now from one genre of edm there is like 100 sub genres from acid house to minimal dnb and even dubstep.

All music today is a derivative from classical music. ITs not about developing it its about using it to provide for todays audience!

I love how they say Mr. Heard's music is similar to the Eurostuff that claims to be house…

GTFOH! Larry Heard was taking House deep while Europe was still staring at their shoes.

That's just like Jazz: They didn't get it until Louis Armstrong went overseas – and became a sensation.

If "Moxie" had any real moxie he(she/it?) would have their facts straight. smh

leads to confusion yes… just like most things blacks do in music as soon as wht ppl get hold of it they fck it up and change its name to suit their own needs… they did it with R&B… got rollin stones fans telling me they're r&b… I'm like get the fuck-outta here!!! they did it with house… look what that turned out to be… they did it with Drum and bass and totally fucked that scene up… i wish they'd just leave things alone and stop trying to label and pidgeon hole stuff. there is only 4 types of popular music… good and bad black music good and bad wht music – period! leave the genres for shmocks and trifling motherfuckers!

To the idiots who still thing that today's deep house is labeled false: it's not. It's still deep house, it just has evolved. We're not in the pre-2000's anymore and music has become crazy complex compared to back then.
I'm glad, that it evolved from this garbage to actually enjoyable and melodic music

Black people invented house music.

Nov 11, 2019, 1:38 pm Reply

Fast forward to 2019, where we now have a "deep house" station on Sirius XM radio that doesn't play any black house producers, a "top 100 house DJs" list compiled by a publication that only has black producers at the #99 and #100 spot, ABC News putting out a news report of David Guetta touring in America as "David Guetta BRINGS HOUSE MUSIC to America", and little white kids who go to "EDM" concerts throwing a rage fit when you tell them that "EDM", once called techno, a harder version of house music, was invented by black people.

Nice to see a video where we are ACTUALLY represented as the originators of the genre.

I reckon that the 'deep' part of house is the part that makes you feel just slightly sad/nostalgic/longing, but the song still makes you feel good. A strange blending of sadness and euphoria.

Not tryna be edgy here I'm being cereal u guys. But most music classed as "deep house" doesn't feel like it's house but deeper, every bone in my body feels like it should be called shallow house.

The build ups are much more quicker, There's less of range in sound and volume the beats feel shallow as opposed to classic house tracks.

Nothing will be as deep and moody as old house, "deep house" ain't all that very deep!

Deep house is underground Disco. They played a little of it in this video, Dr. love by first choice at 2:46. I loved the warehouse, Randolph and Halstead in Chicago. Deep truly is the arranging and mixing of Disco – another name we call it was under ground Disco. It is digging deep in the crates and getting the tracks that may not have made the radio. Mystery of love was the s**t, so was can you feel it, but that's not deep house from chicago. It is the most that makes it deep. Listen to do Wayne Williams on YouTube and the other chosen few DJ. They are deep.

From the 80s-90s & my time attending a HBCU, we used to call it club music (set it off by strafe) & house music (move your body by marshall jefferson). Now I see people call it dance and trance. When hip hop be bop (man parish) came out in the 80s, we thought it was a hip hop song; but it wasn't, it was electronic. But our radio stations played it all the time.
