Here’s What $1,000 A Month In Rent Gets You Around The World

here’s what $1,000 a month in rent gets
you around the world if you live in a big city you know that the only thing
funnier than housing pricing jokes is the actual price that good housing goes
for whether you’re a first-time homebuyer
congratulations we think or just a student figuring out how to cook boxed
mac and cheese in their microwave of their rented apartment the search can be
arduous especially if you’re trying to live around the world however never fear
your bestie is here today we’re going to compare what kind of apartment around
$1,000 a month might get you around the world but first why not go ahead and
click Subscribe and while you’re at it the notification bell is lonely unless
you clicked it too because if you’re looking for a roomie in any of these
places who better to keep you company than your bestie okay now that that’s
out of the way let’s talk Turkey what kind of apartment can you get around the
world for a thousand big ones we collected housing prices from some
places across the globe to see what you could rent for about a thousand American
dollars a month some of it was surprising and some of it was very much
not seriously were you expecting three-floor housing in the middle of
Manhattan small towns can laugh city folks can cry and everyone can agree
that a balcony makes even the worst space livable welcome to house hunters
besties style living space number one first we visit Brooklyn America and the
living space is going to be one thousand dollars the cost in local currency one
thousand dollars in American dollars we mean duh the one we looked at was a
three hundred square foot studio apartment yes you heard that right here
is one of the pros of the apartment we look
there’s really something to be said for a minimalist living and now for one of
the cons unfortunately that something is it sucks living space number two next we
go to Bali Indonesia where you’ll find this living space for about 1041
American dollars the cost and local currency 165 million IDR per year which
looks like a lot more so you can brag to your friends about your 9 figure place
to live the size of the apartment we look at was a two-bedroom Villa now for
one of the pros not only does your house look like literal earthy paradise but
you also have a private pool ending with one of the cons trying not to sound like
a total jerk when you tell your friends you live in a villa living space number
three off to Europe now where we look at a place in La Voz parrot Paris adjacent
France this baby will cost you about one thousand one hundred and seventy four
dollars per month the cost in local currency one thousand euros per month
the one we looked at was a split-level one-bedroom apartment starting with one
of the pros living in a tree house was my literal childhood dream and getting
to live in a split-level loft apartment is pretty much as close as it gets as an
adult here’s one of the cons sleepwalking that would be hard living
space number 4 flying over to Prague Czech Republic where you can get this
place for nine hundred and ninety dollars a month the cost in local
currency twenty-two thousand CZK per month the size we looked at was a studio
apartment pros really really outrageously pretty cons we don’t even
live here yet and it’s beautiful gleaming whiteness already mocks our
pretensions act cleanliness living space number five
staying in Europe but going a little north now let’s travel to Stockholm
Sweden where the price of living in a place we looked at was a familiar nine
hundred and ninety dollars a month the cost in local currency was about eight
thousand SEK per month which again seems like a cool price however when you hear
how big the place was it’s going to look a lot cooler the size of this living
space two-bedroom house for $990 a month let’s look at the obvious pros hammock
lovely wooded location beautiful cozy indoors and hammock now for the cons
anyway did we mention there’s a hammock living space number six let’s leave
those glorious Swedish dreams behind for a second and move our keisters down to
South Paulo Brazil where a place to live would cost you about one thousand one
hundred and thirteen dollars as for the cost in local currency it was thirty
five hundred brl per month once again this one seems pretty reasonably priced
for how big it was the size of the living space a three bedroom apartment
here is one of the best pros on the list the apartment also has three bathrooms
for when you really really really can’t wait and now for one of the cons
honestly we feel a little bit pixelated even looking at the apartments living
space number seven we move from the sunny paradise that is Brazil to the
history rich deli India where a place to live will run you about nine hundred and
eighty two dollars just so you know the cost in local currency will be about
sixty three thousand INR per month for this one we once again saw a glorious
three-bedroom apartment here was one of the best pros about this place there are
three balconies three balconies the Khans came in the
form of the amenities however because there’s a room called the servant room
we think we’d feel a bit weird staying in a place that advertises having a
servant room living space number eight what’s that well it’s Big Ben chiming
the guard at the Buckingham is changing grab you bangers and mash and let’s
watch some football yeah sorry as the voice implied now
we’re going to fly over to London England where you’ll find a place to
live for nine hundred and forty eight dollars the cost and local currency is
seven hundred and thirty-seven pounds per month you’re going to hate the size
broom closet we’re kidding it’s technically a studio but not really we
have to start with one of the pros so if you’re lazy and don’t like having to
move a single step to get to anything in your apartment this is definitely the
place for you however when we saw the place our first reaction was what is
this a room for ants living space number nine from Europe we travel to a very
popular Asian island yes now we’re in Tokyo Japan where you’ll
find a place for 975 dollars the cost and local currency is 106 thousand yen
per month once again we’re going small because the size of the place we looked
at was a studio apartment pros nice little baths cons look criticizing a
Tokyo apartment for being small is like criticizing flavorless yogurt for being
bland living space number 10 staying in Asia now we travel to Beijing China
where you’d be spending nine hundred and seventy five dollars for the pleasure of
living there the cost and local currency was six thousand five hundred C and Y
per month as for the size we saw a three-bedroom apartment for the
price pros it comes fully furnished and we genuinely enjoyed the cute pink
aesthetic of the place cons the Mickey Mouse memorabilia is always watching
living space number 11 now we travel to Dubai the United Arab Emirates where
you’d pay nine hundred and seventy-six dollars to stay the cost and local
currency is forty-three thousand a IDI per year and the size we looked at was a
studio apartment pros we mean it’s technically a studio apartment but when
you factor in the fact that the complex has a swimming pool volleyball courts
running trails and even a mosque we think that kind of upgrades it cons
you’re within breathing distance of possibly the richest people on earth so
you’re gonna feel poor living space number twelve
once again we return to North America and look at a place in Morita Mexico
where you’ll pay eight hundred and forty six dollars the cost and local currency
fifteen thousand MXN per month here’s another big one folks the size of the
place we looked at was a three-bedroom house with a courtyard Rose a courtyard
a pool and an open-concept design cons not really much to be honest
great food great weather its this are Sweden for us so far living space number
thirteen well our plane flies us back to Europe to Florence Italy specifically
where a person could pay nine hundred and forty five dollars for a place the
cost and local currency is 800 euro per month the size isn’t bad either we
looked at a two-bedroom apartment for that price pros it was beautifully
furnished and we always wanted to live inside IKEA catalog plus it’s got
washing machines or when you’re fidgets our rug gets
names on it cons it’s for students only which means that unless you’re that
you’re out of luck living space number fourteen and finally the great nation of
Canada specifically the Greater Toronto Area Canada where you’ll pay about nine
hundred and fifty five dollars American to live the cost in local currency is
twelve hundred Canadian per month yeesh but don’t worry at least you get to live
in a two-bedroom basement apartment pros you live in Toronto all right cons you
live in Toronto and so our trip around the world concludes here what do you
