Ep.1 Seoul Sharehouse Tour | Very Large Apartment

hello friends if families make it boy okay Ptolemy Gupta done and so many of you guys always ask me about places you can stay and create for extended periods of time you guys who come shortly you know you use things like I don’t know air B&B and booking calm and stuff like that to find your like hotels and stuff but some of you guys are gonna be here for Sydney periods of time so I’m at a house today called Anki which means together and it’s an extended-stay house you have to stay here memo of three months has four bedrooms and there’s two beds and each one one of them has one bed so the price is different from that but it’s actually pretty affordable instead of getting an apartment in my opinion because when you get an apartment you have to pay a lot of like a big like security deposit is usually like five thousand or ten thousand dollars or something but there is the one here you just come you stay for three months and your paper this is the living room look at it it’s so big yeah okay oh I have a big veranda to you know come yell ha eat it types of income oh it’s so large so here’s a bathroom it has a tub okay I just want to come and take a bath cuz there’s no tubs oh is this there’s no tubs in Korea it’s very hard to find the tubs but look you can relax some relaxation Mel and other guest houses and stuff they don’t have to you just have showers and you have to share with everyone and that’s not okay just saying just saying and so this is a single bedroom so this single bedroom every room every room has up a rental you can just come out here you know no criminals are going to get it whoo there’s a and walking our dog by there’s a closet out here and closet in there and this room is this room is five hundred fifty thousand won a month which is actually not bad because if you got an apartment it would be like the same size as this for five hundred dollars a month okay one to the next one okay and somebody is actually saying in this room right now so we just invaded their space but she okay so this one is five hundred and twenty thousand won a month five hundred and twenty thousand won a month you’ve got the two beds and it has a big bathroom look at this two girls sharing this this awesome space they can do their makeup this one has a shower and tub separately come on it’s got a shower and tub separately and in case you wanted a shower in that tub too you can shower that tub you’ve got three showers that’s a bit in excess but whatever the cool things about Inc all Korean apartments usually the big Korean farmers all the verandas connect even though it’s in this room you can get to it from every room so like this veranda connects all the way to the front of the house this is being like you could you know do a lot of things in here in this panel Tammy : what’s a fashionable fashion around so and this room is 450 thousand won this closet though it’s huge like if we were playing hide-and-go-seek I could fit in here hide you know how cool is that what I’m re out okay Zack and every room has these no shelves so nice all right here’s oh oh who’s that in the kitchen there are some packages that arrived so just see they’ve got Dom man you know diamond and you know so go so Congress chips they got you know just come they’ve got a cool Korean fridge with milk in it / and they’re always gonna be a rice cookers you got the microwave pots and pans but you and toasters ovens this is just as you got a water machine a little bit this kitchen table squatters well it’s quite not everyone there have a nice meal in the morning usually in Korean houses there aren’t drives you guys you guys always ask you know why do you see Korean people hang drawing their clothes and that’s because dryers aren’t very common but you got a dryer here Mike you got a dryer here Mike but if you want to on the veranda they give you things so you can hang dry your clothes – so like a boss all right and I guess this one is also 450,000 won I’m guessing whatever I put a writedown thing as a subtitle I mean you know and here’s another room two people you got the veranda again so they’re all the same they’re all the verandas really the bomb master Stan yeah sure so one thing that Korean apartments have that was interesting to me because in where I’m from in America all the air conditioning is like in the ceilings and stuff like that but in Korea you had to buy it separately in the economy Spencer because I don’t have one in my house right now so I need to go get one cuz I just move but they’re usually like this really tall and like remote control air conditionings and sometimes in in big places in individual rooms there will be little like wall air conditionings so I thought that was interesting what is this look at that and they always beep at you in high-tech even the washing machines they’re like dude it did it did it everything seen when all Korean apartments have these things too so when someone comes to the door you always see their face and you click them in and if somebody drives in your apartment there’s the thing on the car so as soon as they go in the parking garage little safety things so-and-so is coming home so if you’re doing something inappropriate you’ve got a proper time to read that’s terrible okay this is the only thing about this place is only for women sorry guys only a woman house so if you’re interested in staying in this house the link will be down below there are also some other places if you’re not staying for three months that a place that I’ve been to I really like it’s is at Kate guest house it’s still the regular guest house with all the showers but it’s the most fun when I’ve been to because people like they’re really friendly and it’s just like I don’t know everybody’s just really chill out there so I really like that one it’s in Itaewon so I’ll put a link for that one down below so if you like this video you like to see my videos please subscribe to my youtube channel which is down below don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter and snapchat and ah oh you see great

Many smaller apartments in Korea built for single occupants don't have bath tubs due to space issues, but most Korean apartments that are bigger and designed for multiple people in a family, do have bath tubs.

I'm planing to go to Seoul next summer for a month with my friends (we are a total of 4-5 persons, maybe 6 at the end idk yet) and I wonder what it's better because our economy it's very low because we are still students… Can you tell me which option it's better please??
Like sharing an apartment all of us or going to hotels/guesthouses??
Also which area do you recomend me to stay?? Is it expensive to rent an apartment in Gangnam?
Thanks for all your videos, you allways give a nice information about Korea ^^

Would it be possible to rent a whole house(like as in if I had other friends that want to rent a room in the same house)

Sep 9, 2015, 5:39 pm Reply

This apartment is almost as big as my house in the U.S.! It is considered a smaller house but if I was renting an apartment of this size and quality for that amount money that would be a good deal. They only time I saw rent similar to this in the U.S. is during college. A group of 4 or 6 would share rent and live in the same house. Since my college was not in the city the properties for rent nearby were pretty large because it was a rural area but the houses did not look this modern.

In New Zealand we hang our clothes out on the washing line or on portable clothes hanger dryer things as well. It's kinda rare for someone to have a dryer in NZ as well and if you do have one you hardly use it, only last minute like if you need to dry your school uniform in the morning before you go to school. Most people won't get one because of the "it wastes power" idea we have, it just costs to much to run

1st question i have is, are you able to stay after you pay for 3 months or do you have to go live in an regular apartment once you finish your 3 months rent? 2nd, which really is cheapest to go for, a regular apartment or a sharehouse? and finally, are there any sharehouses that are funded by "EPIK"?

Feb 2, 2016, 10:47 am Reply

Are the sharehouse usually mixed or separate by gender?
And for the shared rooms, is it 450000 won for the two person or for each?

Not often you can get a cheap place in Korea with no tub. They seem to not like tubs much since a lot of Korean go to the jimjilbangs instead. Sorry if my transliteration is bad MY KEYBOARD CAN'T WRITE HANGUL.

My windows don't fit/allow for a AC to be placed in them and I'm dyinggggg. As long as it isn't $1,000+ I'd buy this ASAP. All I get is humidifiers or the mini cooling ones.
