Daily List: Tips for moving into a new Apartment

3 WHEN YOU RENT A HOME OR APARTMENT, YOU PAY A SECURITY DEPOSIT TO COVER ANY DAMAGE TO THE PLACE THAT HAPPENS WHILE WHEN YOU RENT A HOME FOR A DEPARTMENT YOU PAY A SECURITY DEPOSIT YOU WILL GET IT BACK AS LONG AS THERE IS NO DAMAGE BUT HOW DO YOU PROVE YOU DID NOT CAUSE ANY OF THE DAMAGE THAT WAS THERE? THREE THINGS TO PICK PICTURES UP. THE FIRST ONE IS NAIL HOLES. SOMETIMES THEY GO UNNOTICED BY THE LANDLORD UNTIL IT IS YOUR TURN TO EXIT THE LEASE IN WHICH CASE IT IS YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT THAT MAY BE IN JEOPARDY. IS USUALLY CONSIDERED WEAR AND TEAR UNLESS IT IS EXCESSIVE DAMAGE BUT KEEPING LOOK AT WHAT IS THERE JUST TO BE CLEAR BEFORE YOU TOOK OVER. ALSO TAKE PICTURES OF THE CARPET AND THE FLOORING WHICH GETS SCUFFED UP. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RANDOM STAINS OR DAMAGE THAT WASN’T YOURS TO BEGIN WITH. TAKE A LOOK AT THE CARPET BEFORE YOUR FURNITURE GOES IN AND LOOK INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR AND OTHER APPLIANCES LIKE THE OVEN. ANY DAMAGE OR MESS ON THE INSIDE COULD EASILY BE ON THE OUTSIDE AS WELL. WITH REGARD TO THE DISHWASHER, VIDEO CAN BE HELPFUL IF EITHER ONE IS MAKING STRANGE NOISES WHEN YOU MOVE IN. IF THEY ARE SPOTLESS WHEN YOU TAKE OVER, MAKE SURE THEY ARE SPOTLESS WHEN YOU MOVE OUT OR YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE WITH YOUR DEPOSIT. FOR INFORMATION GO TO
