Agujeros de Guión: ROGUE ONE: Una historia de Star Wars (Errores, crítica y resumen)
PLOT HOLES, THE BOOK, NOW ON SALE PLOT HOLES After talking about the plot holes of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, today is the turn of Rogue One. ROGUE ONE (2016) It all starts on the remote planet of Lah’mu, the place where Galen Erso, his wife Lyra and daughter Jyn hide. Uncle was the best scientist in the Empire, but he was not comfortable developing military technology for them, and decided to hide. But the Imperials find him, and Officer Orson Krennic tells him to go with him. Lyra and the girl run away to hide, but Lyra is an idiot and decides to leave her daughter alone, run to the imperial soldiers and take out a laser pistol. “It’s a perfect plan, seamless” But girl, they are many enemies. Think a little bit. And they kill her. Normal. Is that the thing could not have ended otherwise. And Galen is kidnapped. If his hiding place was so good … why didn’t he also hide instead of waiting quietly for the soldiers to come after him? If there was time to spare, look, the very assholes land half a kilometer from the house. Anyway, poor Jyn is left alone. And is that a Star Wars movie without an orphan protagonist character is not a Star Wars movie. “Hi”. In the end, Saw Gerrera, a member of the Rebellion, appears and rescues her. 15 years pass. We are located at a time after episode III and before episode IV. That is, between the first two trilogies. The poor girl has finished prisoner of the empire in a forced labor camp, but fortunately she is rescued by a group of rebels. To which he begins to stoke with a shovel without coming to mind. “Fracture of the vertebrae, third and fourth cervical”. They take her to the rebel base of Yavin 4 and there Cassian Andor explains the whole move. It turns out that the rebels want to contact Saw Gerrera, who is an extremist who no longer talks to them and who says they would be shot right after seeing them. Go crazy fucking, right? As Jyn knows him, they hope to help them make new contact … more than anything to know more about one Bodhi Rook, an imperial deserter pilot who carries a message from Galen talking about a new super weapon. Your mission is basically to look for your father, kidnap him and prevent him from building that Death Star. Although yes, Cassian’s goal is to charge it directly. On the trip they are accompanied by a droid, K-2SO, who just sees it says: “Is a bad idea”. Is there any better alternative? I guess he says it for this. “Possession of unauthorized weapons, falsification of imperial documents, armed robbery, escape from jail and resistance to detention.” So dangerous it does not seem, besides those crimes he did against the Empire, not against the Alliance. Anyway, that Jyn, Cassian and the droid travel to the planet Jedha, where the partisans are, who are the rebel insurgents. What happens is that the Imperials are over the city they have to go to because they are looking for the deserter pilot … and also because they are taking all the Kyber Crystals that they can, which is what energizes the planet destroyer ray. The protas are involved in the middle of a battle between imperial and partisans, and in the end they are rescued by the Whills Guardians, Chirrut Imwe and Baze Malbus, who are said to be the protectors of the Kyber Temple. Seriously, good work, they are looting everything. That is, they do not act to prevent Kyber crystals from falling into the hands of the empire … but to save that pair of strangers? Look at the scene … we already know that these soldiers are very bad with the aim, but they have him surrounded and he doesn’t give him one, and he’s blind. It is that you throw sand and cover yourself. You wear a helmet, asshole! And what exactly is the armor of the Empire’s soldiers for? They are knocked out by the blow of a simple stick, don’t fuck me. For that they go in pajamas, it would have the same effect and the empire would save a lot of pasta in uniforms. A group of partisans appear out of nowhere, capture them and take them to the temple where Saw Gerrera lives. A temple that, by the way, is close to the capital and attracts a lot of attention. No one from the empire decided to register it? By the way, this guy interrogates the pilot with an earth octopus that reads the mind. Fuck, and how do you tell Gerrera that what counts is true? Do you speak human language? “And you’re dead” “What?”. The guy looks like he’s a little screwed up … “I am the League of Shadows. I am here to fulfill the destiny of Ra’s al Ghul. ” But in the end he teaches Jyn his father’s hologram. She tells him that she has managed to sneak a very subtle weak point in the Death Star that would make her jump into the air to the minimum, which would justify one of the great script holes that episode IV had. But yes, if we remember Episode IV, Luke is right of pure miracle. Thanks to the Force, something that Jyn’s father was impossible to foresee. I could have created a simpler weak point, fuck. Or he could have directly sabotaged the gun barrel so that he could never shoot from the jamases, and so many fucking people wouldn’t have died. And after that he could have destroyed all the investigation, killed other engineers and killed himself. Or have stolen a uniform and fled again. The rebels do not stop. But still and everything, how no other engineer has noticed anything? In the Return of the Jedi they have another Death Star without that error. It has another, right, but that’s another story. And we don’t even talk about the Starkiller. Anyway, in the message it says that those planes are hidden in a military base of the empire on the planet Scarif. It is a hyper planet protected by imperial troops, but if you want them, go there for them. Above the files are with a code name that only your daughter knows. We do not know if that data was in the holographic message, but if they had caught his whole plan he would have gone to take it for the ass. Couldn’t he simply have sent those plans to Gerrera next to the hologram? He works with them every day, he should always have them on hand. “We don’t do that here.” While this happens, Governor Tarkin decides to try the Death Star by destroying the capital of Jedha. Everyone flies in colors when they see the move they are in, with an expansive wave of rocks and shits going towards them. Cassian manages to open his cell simply and inexplicably, and is going to get Jyn out of there. And with one shot Bodhi’s cell is also opened and taken away. Opening cells in this universe is very easy. Gerrera, for random reasons, prefers to stand there and die in the explosion of the planet. Okay, he’s a little screwed up, but is one of the most fervent rebel soldiers seriously let himself be killed that way? Jyn is also sweated to die, and escapes with Cassian, the droid, the Chinese and the deserter pilot on the ship. They are saved by a miracle. They are heading to the planet Eadu, where it seems that the Empire has a Kyber crystal refinery, as well as a technological research center. The problem is that they crash into the ship and stay there. Cassian comes forward to try to load Jyn’s father, “and by chance”, Galen Erso is outside the base, outdoors, talking with Krennic. Could they talk comfortably inside and not catch a cold and prevent a sniper from shooting him? Yes, but in Hollywood the dramatic scenes in the rain cool more than any logic. On the ship, Jyn begins to suspect that Cassian has gone to kill her father because of these meaningless phrases: “Why did you ask if he looked like a murderer?” “The Force moves somberly around a creature that will kill” “His weapon was in a sniper position.” But what? What more are they in sniper mode if no one knew that Galen was right on the only outer base platform? If he had been inside, the rifle wouldn’t have helped him. Isn’t it more logical to think that I was going to shoot a soldier with him? Because of this bullshit, Jyn is going to stop his feet, but instead of going to the cliff … he decides to go down to the base and climb 40 million stairs because. Look how subtly Jyn infiltrates. Seriously, what the fuck? Has anyone noticed that? I always say it, the foundations of this universe urgently need railings. These people make spacecraft from the host, but they are not able to put fucking railings. Cassian is going to kill Galen, but in the end he doesn’t. But it is not a problem either, because Krennic kills the engineers without coming to the story and, just after, rebel ships begin to arrive that bombard everything. And in one of these bombings, Galen is mortally wounded. Krennic really could have loaded it perfectly, because if the Death Star works … it’s completely dispensable. What makes no sense is that, seeing that the Star works as a fucking mother, the Alliance still wants to charge it. Why kill the only person who knows the design of that shit and can help them destroy it? Allied ships arriving is good news, but contradicts what Bodhi says at the beginning of the sequence: “Are you sure it’s over here?” “They have trackers and squadrons patrolling. Fly low, don’t go out the canyon.” Not now. Now all rebel ships cross the canyons undetected and destroy the base. What a poor security system. Surely it is up to Galen and his weaknesses. Being fair, it does sound an alarm but when all the rebel ships are already next to the base. And why didn’t the Alliance bombard that base with the fighters from the beginning? Instead of sending Cassian’s matao. “We don’t do that here.” Poor Jyn is reunited with her father, but ends up dying in her arms. Protas steal an imperial ship and escape the planet. Then, once on the ship, Jyn faces Cassian. “You have lied to me because we have come and because you have climbed alone.” That is really false. He went up with Bodhi, but then told him to pirate. But that Jyn couldn’t know because he wasn’t there anymore. And then Cassian arrives at the platform to save her alone, yes, but why would he ask Bodhi to accompany him? If you don’t know how to fight. It would have been normal to tell him to return to the ship. Anyway, I understand that Jyn is angry, because it was the rebels who killed his father. Of course, then at no time he throws it in the face of those of the council, who are wanting to order his murder. Even Jyn ends up reciting their mantras. “May the force be with us” We reached the middle of the movie. We see the planet Mustafar, the best place to throw the unique ring, and we see Darth Vader taking one of these showers that rejuvenate you inside and out. Why is he hiding on the planet where his life was screwed? Are you still looking for your limbs? Darth Vader meets with Krennic on an elevated platform without railings to discuss bullshit. “Its potential to create problems has undoubtedly been confirmed. A destroyed city and an empire complex openly attacked. ” Does it really bother you that a city full of rebels has been destroyed? Besides that was Tarkin’s thing, Krennic has done everything he asked. And the Eadu base … Krennic was just visiting, he wasn’t in charge of security. I don’t understand why he eats brown. Back in Yavin 4, Jyn proposes to the rebels to launch a massive attack on Scarif’s base to steal the Death Star plans that reveal his weak point. Come on, the summary of the plan is “send a fucking email.” However, the dome of the Alliance does not finish seeing it clear, and they pass from Jyn. – A death star, what nonsense.
– Why would my father lie? What benefit could I get? “Attract our forces to a final battle to destroy us once and for all” They don’t believe her because they say she is a criminal. But criminal for the empire, not for you, asshole. And they don’t believe Cassian either? He is his and has seen the Death Star with his own eyes. And if they don’t believe it … why so much interest in charging Jyn’s father? And if they don’t believe it … why do some of the council say they have to dissolve the fleet and have already lost? “There is no choice but to give up” It is a contradiction after another. This movie has very good things, but the dialogues are not one of them. “Are you asking us to invade an imperial installation based only on hope?” “The rebellions are based on hope.” Jyn, how are they going to believe you saying those stupid things? But all is not lost, because Cassian, the droid, Bodhi, Chirrut, Baze and some other rebels are willing to help her on that suicide mission. Is there any reason for this? He has seen the power of the Star, but until now he did not give credibility to Jyn’s father’s message. They steal the ship from the empire that they previously stole and leave without any of the rebels doing anything to prevent it. “Eh, a bird” Thanks to random moves they get through the shield that protects all Scarif. For some reason all the security systems of the imperialists are not able to detect a stolen ship from a base that has been attacked shortly before by the rebels, somewhat ultrasuspicious. After that they reach the surface of the planet, where the base they are looking for is. Upon landing they receive an inspection patrol, and somehow we do not see they can knock them out without making any noise. In plan that they do not even alert the guards who had bet outside. How have they done it? “Ah, yes, well … Whenever they see such a thing, a magician did it” And it is also curious how no one notices that the officer is different, now he has a mustache. And that their clothes fit perfectly with the two. And that the other rebels sneak through the bottom of the ship and hide in the jungle. Everything is very curious in this movie. Uncles are putting bombs away from there as a distraction. The attack begins because Jyn and Cassian can’t move on anymore because, they say, there are many guards. And that? As long as they don’t recognize you … Or knock one out in a bathroom and put on his helmet. Krennic is up to the eggs that everything goes wrong and sends patrols, but the rebels hold them on fire. To complicate matters further, the Alliance has heard about the attack and decided to join the party. For what reason? What made you change your mind to send all your troops there? They already knew what Jyn’s plan and his were when they stole the ship. The Imperials decide to close the shield that protects the entire planet, so Jyn and Cassian cannot send the Death Star data. Because of this, they charge Bodhi to find a way to contact those of the Alliance to load that shield that blocks the signal. Let’s see if I understand it. How can they not send a message to their friends ask the pilot to send a message to their friends So they destroy the shit that blocks messages to their friends so they can send a message to their friends? “It seems to me that I understood the movie. The police knew that internal affairs set them up. ” 7 minutes after the Alliance ships appear, the bad guys decide to drop the fighters. Anyway, a classic. The bad guys have so many things on their heads that they forget that they have those little ships there in case of attack. Finally, Jyn finds the file he is looking for because it is called “Estrellita”, which was what his father called it. Luckily she was there, because if they hadn’t failed completely. It is also that it is a bit strange for the father to give his daughter’s nickname to a machine of mass destruction. Oh, the little star … OF DEATH. And as the light goes out, they have to remove the file manually. It’s a fucking mazacote of the host. Didn’t they have it in jpeg format? Suddenly Krennic appears, makes them pillote and starts shooting at them. One of the shots hits Cassian and falls on a platform below. “Paco has been killed” But Jyn continues with his deadly escalation. Chirrut manages to connect the Bodhi radio system and manage to contact the Alliance ships to destroy the shield. Why does that message reach them through the imperial shield but the Death Star plans don’t? The fact is that Chirrut dies without seeming to make much effort to survive, and his friend Baze also falls. And Bodhi too, destroying the ship with him. Here God dies, but beware, these characters only die just after they have completed their tasks so that the plan goes well. If not, the shots do not give them. Well, the fact is that they manage to destroy the shield by having two Imperial Destroyers fall on it. Meanwhile, Jyn arrives at the base’s super-touch antenna, which has railings, I’m freaking out. Although it is absurd that the antenna controls are on that floating platform and not along with the gossip that is used to send the information of those hard drives. Krennic knows what they intend … and avoiding it would be as simple as asking any ship to destroy the antenita, but … “We don’t do that here.” Instead, what Krennic does is follow her and aim her with a gun without any protection. “Who are you?” “My name is Iñigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die”. And of course, Cassian comes from behind and shoots him. How the hell did you get up there? Why didn’t Krennic kill him when he fell injured on one of the platforms? If I had an egg. But well, after that they manage to send the plans and the Death Star makes its appearance. Is it really worth destroying all that base full of imperial secrets for preventing the Star’s info from escaping? Couldn’t they also take the hard drive with the plans, see what the weak point is and fix it? They aim at fucking ass, away from the base, but it doesn’t matter because everything is going to be destroyed in a matter of seconds. And our dear protas, unable to escape, resign themselves to die hugging on the beach. But the movie is not over yet. The Alliance ships are escaping by jumping into hyperspace, but the Profunity frigate is delayed and intercepted by Darth Vader. His intention is to recover those planes. But I wonder … after sending the plans through the antenna … did only that ship receive them? No other downloaded the plans? Because there were a few. The rebel soldiers manage to prevent them from seizing it and escape all in the Tantive IV corvette. In which, by the way, is Princess Leia. What the hell was she doing there? He has not died of pure miracle. In addition, it is that scenes before a conversation had taken place where Bail Organa told Mon Mothma that Leia was going to look for Obi-Wan for Tatooine. – We need to have some advantage.
–Your friend … the Jedi. –I will send someone to look for him.
–You will need someone you trust.
– She would trust my life. What the fuck? And also in that corvette should go R2D2 and C3PO, but in the only plane where they leave we do not see them with the intention of riding on any ship. But fuck, it’s a pretty good ending, that connects directly to the beginning of the old trilogy and also solves a script gap. Although he would generate a new one, since in episode IV, when Leia meets Vader, he tells her that he was on a diplomatic mission in Alderaan. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m a member of the imperial Senate and I’m on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan.” Come on, aunt. But if he has seen your ship go out shitting milks from the planet that you just bombed. Very crazy “I loose it and if it sneaks, it sneaks, you” So far the video today. The next day I will talk about Han Solo and leave this saga to comment on other movies. If you want to know the script holes of the original trilogy you can find them in my book script holes. A good gift for this Christmas. And in my other channel I am talking about monsters and creatures of The Witcher and their real mythology. See them, it’s cool. See you in the next video.
