Hi guys we’re in a songtaew on the way to
Nimmen road, to look at apartments. Its absolutely p**sing it down outside, so
we just jumped in the nearest one. Got about 8 or 9 apartments to view. It’s 11 o clock and we’ve seen 4 places, everything
shuts at 12 till 2 for lunch. So we’re just trying to find out, the next
few places. we’ve just trying to find the next few places,
we’ve written a list, but we just don’t know where anywhere is! so we’re just sort of working
it out! where is the entrance to hillside? looks like its…. abandoned! Looks like a government building next to a
hotel. since 2016- brand new! 40 baht for an areobics class! super cheap! Hillside is fully booked up until next year,
but we’ve just walked up the road about 10 minutes and you can see in front of me on
the right over there ,there’s Maya shopping mall. Got a cinema, restaurants, shops. Cinema is super cheap here! And if you turn left down that road, that’s
going to take you to the centre of Nimmenheim (?) not sure how to say it! Just seen a pattita, which had a room for
17,000 which had a bathtub haven’t seen one of those in Thailand! And it had a huge living room, huge kitchen.-
loved it!But it doesn’t have a gym and it doesn’t have a swimming pool! so now its getting
between Nimmen with the rooftop pool, Luxury Huay Kaew and that one- Patitta. Ah its really hard!and its getting really
hot as well! Just been in [email protected] its absolutely beautiful! Its got an infinity pool, a gym, a wine bar,
a library (!!) and the flats are pretty much brand new. But its 19000 for one on the ground floor,
which is more the we were going to pay. And she did say if we booked 2 months it would
be 18,000. Then we looked at a bigger one, on the same
floor and then one on the 3rd floor which was 25,000. Which is about £560 which is way more than
we were going to spend. But its beautiful, its got a bath as well,
outside space- little balcony or a garden if on ground floor. Kitchen, Microwave, washing machine, the electricity
is a normal rate, but now its getting harder and harder!Because we’ve seen loads that we
like, and now we have to choose! we’re going to go get some lunch in Maya the shopping
centre down the road, so lets see! Really cool Boris bikes! They are £2/100 baht for the whole day! Right so, we’ve been sat eating lunch for
like 3 hours! Trying to decide which one, at the moment
its between 2 of them that we’ve seen. But we’re going to visit 3 more. Prom T, Nimmen Palm Springs and Prime square-
all of which are near Maya. So we’re going to see those 3, all of them
have swimming pools and gyms and see whether we like them! So we’re 2 or 3 minutes down the road to Prom
T which is….there! Its next to quite a busy road. So we didn’t go in Prom T because they only
have a minimum of 3 months letting. We were going to go to Prime square, which
is just the other side of the highway but it just looks really out of it. So we’re guna head back towards Maya and look
at one called Nimmen by palm springs. Do you like my coat?I look like a shower curtain! But
its was 65 baht so… Soo… raining! We are on our way to Palm springs and it looks
beautiful! There’s a massive dragonfly! Look at the cows! So we’ve just went to see Palm Springs 1 and
2, they’re not called that but they’re all the same anyway. And they were quite expensive for what they
were, you could get… one was 42 sqft and that was 25000 and the other one was 35 sqft
I’m sure but they were way over priced. The cheaper one you did get wifi and the washing
machine and the more expensive one you didn’t, you had to install wifi yourself, so don’t
think we’re guna go for that one! And there was 2 massive building sites right
next door to both of them, so that would be really noisy. So we’re heading back to Luxury Huay Kaew
to have a second viewing! So we’re walking down the road where, there’s like 4 places
down here, You’ve got a choice of the Dome, Luxury Huay Kaew, Pansook 1 or Sakulchai. Its a lovely little road, yes there’s some
building work there but it looks small time- its not going to be too noisy! Lets see what we think of the second place! So we have put down a deposit on one of the
properties we’ve seen, moving in tomorrow at 2pm which is really exciting! We are currently walking back to the old city
to get changed up- celebrate our new flat. Look at that beautiful wall! This walks taking quite a while! We’re half
way there, like half way across old town like one of the sides. But its proper busy and really hard to cross
the road…without getting run over a millions times! So it is 5 to 6 we left our hotel at half
9 so we have spent the entire day looking at flats. We have chosen one you can comment below and
tell us which one you think we should have. But I’m not going to keep you in suspense,
we choose…. to get the Luxury Huay Kaew one, we got a room on the 4th floor which
is quite cool! Which has a balcony, wifi, washing machine
everything included and we paid our deposit today of 5000 baht, we move in tomorrow at
2pm and they’ll get everything cleaned and checked out for us, which is great!

You can't underestimate the value of coming home to a salt water pool (they are less salty than a normal one is chloriney) after a hot sweaty day in the sun. That one would of been my choice.

I would have grabbed the same place. I've watched a lot of other nomads and their search for an apartment, and others have made the same choice as you.

The size should be in Square "meters" vice sq ft.
36 sq ft is one 6 x6 room.

there is a posting board in the garage of hillside where owners post… which is much nicer units than non-owners condos. check out varada place and chiang mai garage – no pool but great location, same with the dome.

luxury hk rooms are < 40sqm very small and no views. and up that long road. I got lucky with my condo in hillside3, great nighttime view just its not a proper 1 bdrm. but it has a bathtub and pool, fitness, massage, breakfast spot all for 13,700 (including wifi) but to get it you'll have to look at the listings board in the garage or via an agency. God some of those places were sick overpriced. 25k for a tiny room? fuh-gettaboutit!

Why did you not rent a car? Just asking because i did with my wife and it came in handy in that hot weather but it is a major hassle getting parking outside of your house when your looking for restaurants. I would just pay for parking but it felt like i was paying pennies for parking so it didn't matter. I want to go again but this time i want to find all the places that have parking.

I will assume that you mean sq. meter and not sq. foot.  Your video was generally helpful.  It would be nice to have the sizes of each one.  You stated that the one for 22000 had no bath????

Very bad camera work and editing. Important information flashed on screen and removed before I could finish reading it.Should down and properly show the inside of the apartments. A pity because it could have been a very informative and valuable video.

I had a question about the water. In one example you had written 30 Baht for water. Is that per "unit" or 30 dollars for the whole month. And if it is not 30 Baht for the whole month(which I doubt), how much do you average per month for water expense?

Hi there, how did you find leaving there? Did it meet your expectations? Is there a minimum contract? Also, is there a way to book online? It seems that many places don't have a way to do so unless though Airbnb or some other booking site?

Wine bar and a gym bit of a contradiction. You either wanna workout and look good or not. Sure you can have a few drinks a month or two months but you don't really need a wine bar for that in fact you would probably want to go somewhere different to drink. But if you drink a few times a week you don't need a gym. Your wasting your time. Just enjoy life in that case.
