Nowadays almost everything is available at your fingertips All you have to do is pull out your mobile phone. However, it’s not always easy to implement the tricks of that ideas you find. Sure, the lists are easy to come by but bringing them to life is another story. Consider this video and the following ideas your guide to building the best room for you small apartment 20. Be Luxurious Small is not all about being dull and cramped. You can always make it a little brighter with maximum comfort. Only allow only thin lines for every object in your apartment, It will leave you with a bit of more functional space to work with, for example, a sofa in the hallway, flanked by two tall shelves. or dining corner with classic oak wooden table? The laundry area is nice as well, lines of clothes hang on both sides of the wall, with a simple drawer in the room end. 19. Play with Concept To get this done you need extra time, extra budget and extra effort. You must set your goals on definite purpose for each one of the room. Imagine how you would like to feel when walking into the room. Some simple tricks: paint the hallway bright, and the bathroom in a Gothic style. Find the supplies you need and get to work! 18. Keep your Clothes In An Open Shelves The disadvantage of a small apartment is the limited space, which is often divided by solid walls. Believe it or not, something as simple as a wall can make you feel isolated and smaller in the room. Break this feeling away by arranging the clothes in an open shelf. The ability to see inside, prevents your brain from reaching the conclusion that the room is actually not big enough. Also make sure to keep the clothes tidy at all times. Otherwise, it will be more stressful than already is 17. Two Stories Book Shelves Those who enjoy reading will pretty disappointed if they didn’t have enough space for their books. and separating collection might not be the best option, either. If this is the case in your home, then pull out the two stories book shelves. Instead of bulking your spaces, it will make your wall look like a huge library. The trick is to provide space to put the books horizontally on the bottom of each story. 16. Stick Storage Close To The Bed The most important consideration for a limited space is how to make everything functional. For example: in the bedroom, you don’t have any space privilege between the bed and the shelves. If this is the case, then simply stick them together. Think of it as a bed border, with some small storage on both sides. Each item could be stored safely within the drawers. but If you have any floating shelves, make sure they’re not right above your head. 15. Create a Mini Garden Not everyone can live without some sort of garden view But as long as you have a balcony, even though it is limited, a mini garden is always possible. Set some tiny pots on top of a table. If possible, hang them. Pick some plants with less maintenance if you have to go out all day. Stick the small plants together, and give proper distance of any vine plants. Water them every day and enjoy the mini taste of nature. 14. Repeat The Art. People are often told that hanging framed pictures will cut off the space. It usually happens when you buckle up things on the wall. Fortunately, that won’t happen, as long as you know the trick. When hanging the pictures, make them move upward diagonally. If you could draw a line from the floor to the ceiling, that would be even better. Alternate it with big and small pieces to create contour. 13. See It Closer! Bathroom should allow you to relax that’s why a little humor might bring out a smile on your face. Make some simple art by using photo frames. Replace the photo with a big printed number. Too ordinary? Not so fast. Come closer and read what is printed on the background. Yup, it is a loop of funny quotes from your favorite movies. 12. Playful House If you are happy enough with your new small apartment, make the atmosphere even livelier by displaying some toys. Do it differently to get maximum endorphin boost possible after your long day at work. Group them in a specific corner to make it more lively For example, hang some mini furniture upside down, next to a fixture hole. There you go: a concept from Alice in wonderland. If you happen to have a set of warriors, line them up in order. But replace the king with cute teddy bear or bunny. 11. Hang Things Especially during the autumn season, shaker peg rails are extremely useful as the place to hang all your gardening tools. If you have an empty wall, mount three rails at once, allowing you to hook more pegs there. Make sure to Provide enough distance for each peg. Hang your hat on the top, your clothes on the second layer, and your shoes on the bottom. 10. Set a Lovely Balcony Never give up on bringing natural element. to your small home Even in a tiny apartment, planting is totally possible. You just need small pots, arranged vertically on the iron fence or on the walls. If you are on budget, go for unused bowl-like items. Try with geranium first, which requires less maintenance. It blooms pink flowers with lush leaves. Complete the look with simple chair and small rounded table. Cover the table with table cloth of your choice. something that speaks to your personality in the morning, Bring your breakfast in and enjoy your new mini garden. 9. Place Items Carefully Before you start filling up your small apartment, imagine how you could use the least number of items with maximum functionality Start with the living room. It should have double function as entertaining room as well. Mount the TV on the wall, so everyone in the room, even you when you cook in the kitchen, could can watch your favorite NetFlix. Set the sofa on the opposite direction, facing to the television. Put a drawer on the behind the sofa, right next to the dining area. 8. Lay a Carpet The easiest way to mark different area is by using carpet. give each section its own color For example: soft fluffy rug for under your bed and sofas, rubber carpet, tile, or lemonade floor for kitchen area, and simple rug for your working station. Make sure it coordinates well with your other furniture, since there is no wall or separators. If you have experience with mixing & matching in small area, why not go with that idea? But if you’re First timer, it might be best to try out the concept with something little smaller scale 7. Hang a Curtain Some people are surprised when they see their new apartment. It is just a blank space. No walls, only doors to the bathroom. if you use to having privacy, this is really annoying. if there are no clear divider between areas. Solve this problem by hanging a simple curtain. If you like, pick a frilly one. it will separate your bedroom from the living room, kitchen and dining room. while also adding some luxury and charm to your apartment atmosphere. 6 Install a Loft Bed Don’t raise your eyebrows just yet. It might appear to be a childish concept, but when you think about its function, loft bed has it all. This type of bed maximizes the space from the ceiling to the floor. and it can provide both bed and working area. What makes it more appealing is its color variety. You could find the one with classic and elegant look, instead of childish character. and if you are not that confident to share your private space, then you can install a sliding door. 5.
Highlight the Height Your room might be short in terms of width, so make your guests pay more attention to its height. To do this, you can do several things, especially in the sleeping area. Like Installing wall lighting instead of putting it on the floor or on a desk. Make sure it can shine on at least half of the wall. Also, pick a four posts bed It naturally draws the line of sight to the ceiling. No need to install a net 4. Connect the View This trick applies for apartment with a view even if that view is a building next door Usually this type of space is also equipped with balcony if you like, you can skip the curtain or only hang small one allowing you to connect the room interior to the view outside By including the outside panorama to your room, it will create the illusion of bigger space. Pick dark tone to frame the windows. and finally, add some plants to the corners to be the natural touch of the room. 3. Get a Murphy Bed If you really need more space, then you bigger items must be able to fold away even better if the item can also function as something else. while its hiding A product that suits this goal is a Murphy bed. It can fit for two people and the height can be adjusted to suit your need it folds away when it’s not in used you can even install a mirror on the under side. to make the room appear larger and use the support board as a small work space or drawing table for the kids. 2. Keep Things under the Seat Be creative and find unexpected places to store your belongings. Ordinary chair don’t serve many purposes. and while guest are often shown sofa to sit on you can pick a bench instead. Take one with a plush padded body. It looks as fancy as sofa, with extra space to hide things beneath. Keep in mind to find one that blend in well with the other furniture. Moreover, when you or anyone else use it as a seat, things within the box are sealed and safe. 1. Create a Working Space one of the main reason you chose your apartment is how close it is to your work place but because of this, sometimes you might bring home a lot of paperwork if this is you Why not make a comfortable corner for you to do any work you bring home with you. First, take a look at your workload. If you bring in a lot of paper, then find a simple table, with plywood as the wall, separating the bed and the table. Wow. At least they didn't use robot voices. Most of these suggestions are either overly general, obvious, or impractical. Don't know what types of apartments you're used to, but mine don't look anything like the rooms shown here.

Is anyone else amused by the fact that the video is hijacked halfway through by a masterclass on curtain hanging?

The maker of this video has NO IDEA what a small apartment is. A hallway wide enough for a couch AND walking space? A bedroom with room for chairs under the window?
Probably a lot more…but I'm off to find some hints for an apartment UNDER 800 square feet…?

There was enough space in the bedroom to put doors on the wardrobes.(1:52) Seeing all the clothes is too busy and not relaxing for a bedroom. It's needs hiding unless it's almost empty and keeping it tidy would be exhausting.

Interesting ideas, but you go over each one too quickly and superficially to take them in.
